Welcome to Opepo

OPEPO is devoted to cultivating the whole child in an engaging, respectful, multi-age environment emphasizing community and parent/family involvement.

What is OPEPO (OPtional Education PrOgram)?

OPEPO is a 1st-4th grade alternative multi-age program within the Port Townsend Public School District, where students work cooperatively with two teachers/facilitators.

The OPEPO classroom is home to 40-50 students in two joined classrooms. Although the students spend time throughout the day all together, the majority of the day, 1st and 2nd graders share one classroom, and 3rd and 4th graders share the other.

The continued success of OPEPO heavily depends upon family involvement inside and outside the classroom.

This website is maintained by the OPEPO Parent Association.

OPEPO’s Enrichment Activities

OPEPO’s parent volunteers work with the teachers to provide enrichment activities that complement the classroom learning, incorporating the talents of the parent body and community through additional activities.
